UTAR Soft skills workshop: NLP

After 2 days for NLP (Neuro, Linguistic and Programming) Workshop… I finally mastered something very useful.

Anyways, this is what I learn in 2 days…

Step 1: Study your subject…

Step 2: Modify yourself…

Step 3: Mirroring and Matching…

Step 4: SELL!!!!

And this is so much more powerful than just using basic steps to influence other people… It’s like trying to sell things in 3 minutes! Well again, practice and more practice…

This workshop comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! MUST ATTEND!!! I really regretted for not joining this workshop in Foundation Studies itself… Really missed out a lot…

Who says equipments are more important?

Yea… No one ever said that camera equipments are more important than skills… Just because you have better gears doesn’t mean that you can shoot beautiful and stunning shots!

Hopefully this post, I can proof you wrong….

People… Don’t feel bad just because you have a simple camera! Don’t feel bad just because your camera is smaller than other people’s.

Instead, feel GREAT because your simple camera can go places where no big cameras can go. Be GLAD that you’re not suffering from all the complex camera settings! Be HAPPY that you do not have to carry such a big camera!

Hopefully, this post can change your mind. And I personally still feel that SKILLS are ALWAYS more IMPORTANT!!!

G.I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra

And finally… It’s my turn to watch this man-machine action-packed movie… alone.

First of all, it’s very cool… second of all, it’s still very cool… and third of all, the CGI sux… (Edna, you’re right!)

Yea… the machines, the accelerator suits, the chase, the hunt, the people, they’re definitely very cool. But the story line lacks of oomph… It’s like, something is a bit missing… Nevertheless, the characters are well played, and you should be able to see some cool guys and beautiful girls in the movie… haha

Still, back to the movie. The CGI is a bit out… maybe because the movie Transformers basically set the CGI standard so high… haha… good for us. But I think it’s still much better as compared to few years back…

Yea… so, is this movie worth watching? Yes and no. If you’re the kind of person who loves military stuffs, cool techs, seeing things blowing up, handsome guys and beautiful girls, YES. If you’re the kind of person who wants to learn something out of it, philosophical stuffs, moral of the story etc, NO.

My rating, for my personal preference, 4.5 out of 5.0

If you guys want to see machines, watch Transformers. If want to see humans with machines, watch G.I. Joe. It comes highly recommended. Cheers!

 

P/S: I saw someone without a mask today. Feeling worried, he used the newspaper to cover half of his face, with the newspaper depressed on the nose. I wonder he’d fall ill due to newspaper dye toxicity or H1N1 first…

“US ranks 28th in Internet connection speed: report”

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States ranks 28th in the world in average Internet connection speed and is not making significant progress in building a faster network, according to a report released on Tuesday.

 

The report by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) said the average download speed in South Korea is 20.4 megabits per second (mbps) -- four times faster than the US average of 5.1 mbps.

 

Japan trails South Korea with an average of 15.8 mbps followed by Sweden at 12.8 mbps and the Netherlands at 11.0 mbps, the report said.

 

It said tests conducted by speedmatters.org found the average US download speed had improved by only nine-tenths of a megabit per second between 2008 and 2009 -- from 4.2 mbps to 5.1 mbps.

 

"The US has not made significant improvement in the speeds at which residents connect to the Internet," the report said. "Our nation continues to fall far behind other countries."

 

"People in Japan can upload a high-definition video in 12 minutes, compared to a gruelling 2.5 hours at the US average upload speed," the report said.

It said 18 percent of those who took a US speed test recorded download speeds that were slower than 768 kilobits per second, which does not even qualify as basic broadband, according to the Federal Communications Commission.

 

Sixty-four percent connected at up to 10 mbps, 19 percent connected at speeds greater than 10 mbps and two percent exceeded 25 mbps.

 

The United States was ranked 20th in broadband penetration in a survey of 58 countries released earlier this year by Boston-based Strategy Analytics.

 

South Korea, Singapore, the Netherlands, Denmark and Taiwan were the top five countries listed in terms of access to high-speed Internet.

 

US President Barack Obama has pledged to put broadband in every home and the FCC has embarked on an ambitious project to bring high-speed Internet access to every corner of the United States.

 

According to the CWA report, the fastest download speeds in the United States are in the northeastern parts of the country while the slowest are in states such as Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

做人，并不是那么的难。

只要简单就好，不伤害其他人就好。就是那么的简单。

但，如果一个人因为妒忌其他人，因为想要伤害其他人，因为喜欢取笑那些失败的人。。。那我也无能为力。

我不介意他人伤害我，因为我一念心，可以改变所有。

但，如果因为一些动作而伤害到了他人，我觉得，您不但伤害了他人，也伤害了我们的缘分。

时间可以冲淡一切。。。我最后也是会原谅您。但是，那些被您伤害的人能不能在站起来，我才是最担心。

最后，我也能做的事，就是改变自己。这里，要提醒自己，我的“四物汤”与“四神汤”还喝得不够也。。。

Memories… Part 1

These few days, I’m seeing a lot of photos of my foundation year in Facebook… It was of great memory and I would like to preserve it forever… so I’m featuring them in my blog.

Apparently, I left some other photos at home… so I couldn’t have all of them featured at once… nevertheless, here are some photos to share…

This is the photo of Edward and I fooling around the lecture hall. That time, it was after lecture and I forgot what happened and we started cam whoring… If not mistaken, it was Hee Boon who took these photographs… Thanks.

We’re buddies until Edward had to leave for UTAR Kampar… and now I heard that he’s doing fantastically well there… Cheers to you man!

This is another photo with other TE3 friends… That time, it was at PJ UTAR… and Edward was the only one from TE1… Clockwise from left, Li Pei, Shee Wuen, Thng Huei, and Edward.

The next one was a pit stop in SS2 for our class lunch together… We have the lovely couple, soo ping and soon hang…

Then we had a bit of photo session… with Mei Yui at the back… She’s the only one who didn’t come to Setapak to pursue her studies. Instead, she stayed back and continue her Psychology studies there…

… definitely miss her a lot… She was one of the nicest girl I’ve ever met…

And the following photo is not to be forgotten… Short sticks training in PJ. We had quite a great time and this photo is very important to me…

To my few friends who have forgotten that I used to learn Taekwondo… Please take a good look at this photo and remember it… I stopped because of bad time management problem in Setapak. If I stayed in PJ, I would have continued…

 

Anyways, this is only one part, featuring the old days of mine in UTAR PJ. Miss it so much…
