These photos were taken some time back…
Well, they’re some time ago already… and thanks to digital technology, these memories are preserved forever…

A twist of dinner… Simon and I were the chefs and here are some of the photos…
Table setup…
Dishes…
Macro…
Those who served us with rice…
Hungry fellas… So hungry… till started eating without waiting for others…
She… who claimed to be a polite girl in the room…. haha… yea right!?
It’s been a while since we had such a big feast… We certainly had much joy of eating such a wonderful dinner together. Thanks everyone!
I miss macro photography very much and my dad told me that I can make my normal lens to macro lens. I didn’t had much time to try it out until recently.
There are two simple ways to convert your lens to macro lens.
If you’re using a newer lens, you need to use ‘extension tubes’ to extend the gap between the lens and image sensor.
Another method is for older lenses. Pretty simple actually, just invert the lens. When my dad told me this, I was a bit confused… as in, ‘how to invert the lens?’. You need a lens reversing ring.
Since I don’t have a reversing ring, I used manual mode – hold the lens. Here are some macro photographs to share…
The tomato with 50mm…
Inverted lens = macro…
So I guess I’ll be shooting some macros soon! Yippy!!!
Let us face the truth:
I need friends (correct).
Friends need me (correct)… I know, you may say “WAH SAE!! Like that one!”
If communication is okay, I need help, friends help me.
Else if communication is NOT okay, I need help, dare not ask! Haha
But if communication is okay, friends need help, I help.
Else if communication is NOT okay, friends need help, I hesitate first.
But, by the end of the day, we’re still friends, no matter how distant we are. So most of the time, I help!
So please respect me if I decline to help sometimes, because I’m thinking whether I’m capable of helping you!
I know... sounded a bit like Programming... Haha. Still, thanks everyone!
While I was sifting through some old stuffs while tidying my things, I saw a piece of paper with some words written on it, one which I did not discard over so many years.
I wrote this for a friend, and now, I’m sharing it with everyone…
No matter how hard life is,
A SMILE will make things easier,
take you to cloud nine where there is no pain and sorrow,
make things work according to your will.
So, SMILE, and be happy!
Sadly, I couldn’t remember to whom I wrote this to. If you’re reading this, and I wrote you this, please contact me, okay? Thanks.
50mm lenses are normally used for portraits shooting. So yesterday, before starting my MB discussion, we had some portraits photo session.
The lighting was good, so was the lens. Due to DX format, the actual magnification is actually 75mm. Still, the results are astonishingly good.
*Sorry, no enlargements. Scared that people will use these photos for ‘illegal’ purposes.
Again, the boy who loves cam-whore… Thank god my lens didn’t break…
A photograph of myself, taken by Greg. Thanks… But his composition can improve further… maybe it’s because of the lens… no AF.
*Ahem* I rarely have self portraits, okay?! Photographers hardly have photographs of themselves… That’s a fact that I have to face… haha
And another portrait of this person, who just woke up from his sleep…
True enough, the lens is indeed good. As what Dr. Gideon said, old lens are GOLD lens! They’re THAT good!
The lens nowadays are made more of plastics and the older ones are really made of metal. The current 18-105mm 3.5-4.5 lens I’m using is made in Thailand. This is where it got worse. The new Nikon 35mm 1.8 is made in CHINA. What is going on? I wonder whether the quality would be good? hmm… Thank god most of the professional lenses are still made in Japan…
Anyway, the MB exam went very well, and I’m pretty happy with what I’ve wrote in the answer booklet. I’d better take a nap and continue with my Genetics. Till then.
I’ve always wanted this hairstyle… See Mike’s hair… Busta is on the left.
It’s cool, but kinda hard for me to tell this to my barber / hairstylist…
So perhaps I can print a photo of this and bring it along when I’m going for my haircut? Haha!
Anyway, in EXACTLY 24 hours, I’ll be sitting for my Molecular Biology paper… First paper for this semester. Wish me luck… Wish you luck too, if you’re sitting for this paper.
Biotechcorp Malaysia had organized the BioCareer 2009, which would be held for 2 days - today and tomorrow. So I dropped by to have a look…
Getting into the exhibition hall…
In the hall.
Some talks are given out , with this one regarding Clinical Research in Malaysia.
Some interactive station where some secondary school students learn some new stuffs… As usual, Genetics…
Question: X-linked Haemophilia Male cross with Normal Female…
Some of the exhibitors present…
After the tour around, I took a pit stop by Pavilion… The next photo I wanted to show is this message by the escalator. This escalator is the one outside Wisma Cosway, linking Pavilion to the Cosway building…
Look closer at the notice…
See the BIG mistake there… ‘SENCOR’. I don’t think the dictionary has this word. It’s printed by Pavilion…
Anyway, I’ve got to go back to my studies already… The first paper – Molecular Biology.
Today is the start of first paper for finals… And the paper is Moral… some people may find it ‘deMoralizing’ to study this paper, but it’s the government’s requirement… so, just close your eyes, go in, answer and make sure it pass! haha…
Anyway, all the best to everyone in the finals. Make sure you have enough rests. Attention and health are more important than scoring well in the paper. You need them, trust me.
Till then, study hard, enjoy too!
Take a look at this…
This cute doll belongs to someone…
This lovely couple… Haha…
I’ve to go back to my neuro already… Better start ASAP…
Hey, everyone! I've updated a new layout for my blog...
In the process of modifying the layouts, I'm reminded of why I had to study HTML. Although Blogspot uses XML and not HTML, I managed to learn a trick or two on how to reformat the layout for my needs.
In the meantime, I had the opportunity to tweak on some of the XML codes, which leads to a messy layout (in the page layout setting) right now... Haha. But thank god what you see right now is correct and not filled with errors...
So, what do you guys think of this new layout? Please comment. Thanks.
My friend, Joanne, has some hamsters and they recently gave birth to some cute……… hamsters! What else?! You thought mice ar?
Hamster mate with hamster of course you get hamsters la! You thought disassortative mating meh? Like lion mate with tiger you get ‘liger’…… *ahem*… I think I’ve too much Genetics in my mind right now…
Never mind, so here’re some photos of the cute little hamsters…
They’re pretty active and restless most of the time… I need to try to shoot photos of them again… next time… slow shutter, to show they’re active run…
This one is a special one… able to climb up the cage… Friends call this one the ‘SPIDERMAN’!!!
That’s it… have to go back to my stack of notes…. T_T
Happy birthday to James… and I believe that you’ve got a nice splash in the water… haha!
This is a photo of James himself…
And this is the shot where his other friends throw him into water after having him to blow off the candles…
So I guess he really had a great time being played a prank by his friends… haha
I recently received an E-mail from a friend saying that there’s a Lok Chat (67) Restaurant at Bukit Bintang… I’m not sure how true it is, and I don’t really want to know…
The photos below may be too explicit somehow, but it’s somewhat interesting tough…
People below 18 please avoid reading this post… hehe
Totally gross… Better think again before you consume hotdogs next time… haha.
The movie – Australia is one of the best movies I’ve ever watched. Meaningful storyline and wonderful insight into Australia and the people.
I find this scene particularly funny and I wanted to share it with you all…
It’s the scene where Lady Ashley spotted some Kangaroos hopping and jumping peacefully and beautifully in the hot desert… It’s as if they’re in heaven… until, something happened to one of them. The reaction was well presented and Nicole Kidman has certainly acted very well in the scene…
Anyway, if you haven’t watch the show just yet, go watch it! See it for your self!
*The show’s kinda long though… about 3 hours long…
Well, since it’s the study week, I have to study, of course… Started of with Molecular Biology followed by Genetics…
The next day, my whole family went out for hiking in the evening, I thought of shooting some nice sunsets and twilights, but since we when there too early, I didn’t catch any photographs of sunset on hilltop. My dad and I took some photos of the surrounding…
This tree looked like the ‘lucky tree’ where people throw up red papers to hang on the tree for luck etc… Interesting.
And later after the hike, I got something I didn’t expect to get… Leech on my ankle! Manage to get it off, but the anti-coagulant it injected me made my life miserable… Why?? see this…
The blood couldn’t stop bleeding for 2 hours or so (because I didn’t bandage or apply pressure to it) and later I had no choice but to apply pressure to the wound, I cellophane taped my whole leg, so that I can go to sleep… haha
The next day I’ve got some free time, so I went out to my garden and took more photos of green… and more green…. GREENzzzzzz
A butterfly (I think… or moth, I don’t know) on the ixora plant.
The fish pond, full with guppies… *Dr. Gideon, are you reading this? hehe… Sorry, no photos on the guppies… no Macro lens and no polarizer… These plants instead…
Fruit season is coming real soon… and my rambutan tree is full with unripe fruits already!
This one is known as “duit-duit” plant… Because the leaves is about the size of 1 cent coins… Correct me if I’m wrong…
That’s basically my weekend… kinda boring to some I guess… Anyway, I had great fun at home. True enough, home is where the heart is.
